The Harveys | Nantasket Beach Family Photography

One of the things I like best about how I experience life is that I find delight in the everyday things, experiences, and moments that we have each day.  The taste of a perfectly ripe tomato,  the feeling of a nubby shell in my hand, the light pattern on a wall, a mutual look from a stranger when we both see something silly in public - the opportunities for these moments of every day magic are truly endless.  My love of this magic can be traced directly back to the family featured today.  Growing up as an only child to a single Mother (in a town where I didn’t really fit in) could be isolating.  Plus, as a teenager I was….a lot.  Fun, for sure, but intense and dramatic and some may say difficult at times.  In high school my best friend Eli invited me into the enchanted world of her family and in doing so gave me the love, stability and joy I often needed.  It is cliché to say, but it is also true, that I would not be who I am today without the influence of these people.

As such, it was the honor of my life to create these photos in celebration of Eli’s sister’s engagement and to capture their summer vacation on the same beach we visited as kids.  I wanted this session to be silly and weird while creating a space where they could all feel, and then see, the love they have for each other.
