Southwest Utah Travel Photography

Last year I traveled with my son and Mother to Southern Utah for one of my favorite vacations to date.  Below are some of my favorite images from the trip, starting with Valley of Fire State Park just outside of Las Vegas Nevada.  This is one of the most interesting looking places I’ve ever been - it truly feels like you’re on another planet.

Our time in Zion National Park was too short and started rainy and foggy but once the weather cleared we hiked the stunning Canyon Overlook trail for insane views.

Bryce Canyon National Park’s hoodoo rock formations are unlike anything I’ve ever seen and the Park has a few amazing hikes, one of which almost killed me when I hiked down into the Canyon and then almost didn’t make it back up!

Finally, Antelope Canyon has been on my bucket list for years and our tour of Canyon X with Taadidiin Tours was absolutely the highlight of our trip.  Our guide was fun, personable, helpful and super knowledgable and we learned a ton about how slot canyons are formed.  Canyon X is a smaller slot canyon than the Upper and Lower canyons and thus much less crowded - other than the one other person on our tour we were the only ones there!  I highly recommend this tour company - especially because they are owned by the indigenous people of the Navajo Nation.  We finished our trip with a fun ATV ride out of the canyon and then went to the famous Horseshoe Bend which was beautiful but PACKED with tourists and that did take away from the experience a bit.
